Today Is The Day For Action

History, heritage and tradition are important foundations of contemporary Christianity. But nostalgia about the good old days can be lethal if we allow it to keep us from a wholehearted commitment to effectively serve this present age. Some of the most productive expressions of ministry in the Church’s long pilgrimage of faith should be happening today. God wants Pastors to make the gospel real in contemporary life. This is the reason why a Pastor cannot pitch his tent in the past, misuse the present, or resist the future.Too many of us waste years waiting for some nebulous something to occur. In our imagination, the future is wrapped in fantasy or flimsy ambition. As a consequence, we never fully live in the present. Jesus said in John 9:4;” I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” Ministry never bursts into full bloom at some magic future moment when we have more experience, find the right town, or receive some advantage. It starts now. Our current post has a wealth of potential. Why not find it and use it?
